The snowmobile outfitters

Each outfitter does winter its own way: sled rentals, guided rides or simply a warm base camp. Open its page to see what it offers this winter, then get in touch to book your dates.

Distance to the trail: in a straight line, from the outfitter's spot on the map to the nearest official trail. It is not a route: ask the outfitter whether the trail can be reached from the camp.

Depending on the outfitter, you ride out from the camp or use it as a warm base between days out. Formulas vary a lot: before you go, confirm with the outfitter the opening dates, winter access to the camp and what the package covers.

Reading the trail map

The map at the top of the page shows the official trail network of the Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec, in three classes: Trans-Québec trails (which link the regions), regional trails and local trails.

Laurentides, Mauricie and Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean are the regions with the most outfitters on this page. Before you book, ask the outfitter whether the network can be reached from the camp.

Frequently asked questions

What does an outfitter offer snowmobilers?

It varies a lot. Some outfitters offer a package with lodging and meals, others a warm place to sleep for riders who arrive by sled, others a camp you ride out from. Each outfitter's page and website say what it offers in winter.

Can I rent a snowmobile at an outfitter?

Some outfitters rent snowmobiles or run guided outings, but not all: many only host riders who bring their own. Check the outfitter's page, then confirm with the outfitter before you go.

How do the listed prices work?

There is no single snowmobile price: an hourly rental, a guided outing and a night's stay don't compare. When an outfitter publishes a snowmobile package, it is on its page. The price shown in the list for an outfitter that also offers ice fishing is its ice fishing price; always confirm the final price with the outfitter.

Can I combine snowmobiling and ice fishing?

Several outfitters on this page also advertise ice fishing. Conditions and fishing rules vary by lake and date, so ask the outfitter what is possible during your stay.

How do I book?

Bookings are made directly with the outfitter — by phone, by email or, for some, online. Pourvoo takes no bookings; each outfitter's page links to its website and contact details.
