Pourvoirie du Lac Dionne

Pourvoirie du Lac Dionne spreads over a 52 km² (20 sq mi) exclusive-rights territory and some thirty lakes on the Côte-Nord, in the Manicouagan region. Spared by forest fires for several hundred years, the territory shelters undisturbed wildlife and rich vegetation. Every lake holds native brook trout exclusively — the salmon-fleshed speckled trout that yield roughly 9,000 catches a year. At 9 km long and with two natural spawning grounds, Lac Dionne is so full of fish that the outfitter holds a year-round fishing authorization; the possession limit is 20 trout per person, with no limit on what you eat on site. Half a dozen secondary lakes, reached after a 15- to 45-minute walk, can be reserved for your exclusive use for the day. On the hunting side, in zone 18 and under a ministry-approved wildlife management plan: moose on two exclusive sectors of about 25 km² each, prepared with salt licks and blinds (1 moose per party), black bear over baited sites, and small game where hare and grouse abound. The cabins, all set around the main lake and far enough apart to preserve your privacy, sleep 2 to 12 with shower, toilet, hot water, wood stove, fridge and propane range; a recent lodge rounds out the accommodation, on the European plan. Open year-round, the outfitter is also a snowmobile relay with bar service: ice fishing, heated-hut and snowmobile rentals in winter, ATV riding, hiking, canoeing, pedal boating, berry picking and wildlife watching the rest of the year, plus family holiday stays and corporate retreats.
