Pourvoirie Cockanagog

On the shore of Lac Cockanagog in Ferme-Neuve, Pourvoirie Cockanagog is run by Sylvain and Carmen, who welcome every guest the way you would welcome family. The territory takes in five connected lakes where summer anglers land walleye, pike, lake trout, bass, sturgeon and whitefish; boats, motors and pontoons are for rent on site, a fully equipped cleaning room stands ready by the central dock, and you can moor your own boat there and fill up on gas. From December 20 to March 31 the ice-fishing village opens its lighted huts — pike, walleye, whitefish, yellow perch, cisco and burbot — so you can fish day or night. On the hunting side, moose and deer are taken from baited blinds with bow, crossbow or rifle, along with black bear; from September to March, partridge and hare can be hunted free of charge with a chalet rental. Lodging runs to six fully equipped chalets with docks, for 2 to 8 people, open year-round, plus two rustic summer cabins sleeping up to ten: Pointe à l'Indien, reachable by boat only, and Le Relais, beside a creek a hundred feet from the lake. The main lodge adds a bar with a liquor licence, a pool table, satellite television and a dining room overlooking the lake where the American-plan packages are served table d'hôte. Snowmobilers and ATV riders get federated and off-trail routes near Montagne du Diable, several loops starting right at the outfitter, a large secure lot for vehicles and trailers, and supper/bed/breakfast packages. Hunting and fishing licences, Aire faunique communautaire fishing rights, gas, bait and ice are all sold on site.
