Pourvoirie Pavillon la Vérendrye

On the edge of the La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve, Pavillon La Vérendrye is an exclusive-rights outfitter spread over 150 km² of forest and 23 hunting territories. Black bear hunting, from May 15 to June 30, is its specialty: numerous sites are baited regularly across a vast sector west of the lodge, served by a network of roads. Add to that moose hunting on exclusive territory (7-day European-plan packages, minimum 4 hunters, with blood-dog game recovery and a cold room), unguided small-game hunting — spruce grouse, ruffed grouse and hare — on exclusive sectors of 75 km² per party, and walleye and pike fishing on several lakes and a river, all reachable by road. You stay in eight hunting and fishing cabins spread across Lac Henri, Lac Du Guerny, Lac Malone, Lac Pratt and the Coulonge River: indoor toilet, shower and hot water, wood stove, refrigerator, propane range and a fish house for filleting your catch away from the mosquitoes. Rooms are also available in the main lodge, which has a bar with a big-screen TV. In winter the outfitter becomes a snowmobile relay with gas service and meals served in the dining room.
