Le Domaine du Lac Brouillard — Auberge Boréale de Charlevoix is a high-altitude outfitter covering a game-rich territory of 1,500 hectares in the Sagard sector, northeast of Charlevoix, between the Saguenay and Charlevoix. You can fish for native brook trout (omble de fontaine) on 14 wild lakes (13 native, 1 stocked), with the option of salmon fishing on the nearby Rivière Petit-Saguenay. Renowned for moose hunting (the Mailloux sector at 800 ha and the Bouleaux sector at 900 ha, with blinds and salt licks, high success rate) and black bear hunting; small-game hunting in the fall. L'Auberge Boréale (American plan) offers upscale lodging with a restaurant, complemented by 4-star European-plan equipped cabins with a view of Lac Mailloux or Lac Brouillard. Also on the menu: vacation packages, boreal gourmet experiences, snowmobiling, BRP off-road experiences (Ski-Doo and Can-Am, access to trails 83 and 383), ATV, canoe, kayak and paddle.
