Founded in 1934, Pourvoirie Domaine Bazinet is one of the oldest and most popular outfitters in Quebec, set at 1,800 feet of elevation in Sainte-Émélie-de-l'Énergie, in the Lanaudière region. Its 19 km² territory of lakes, rivers, streams, waterfalls and mountains is known for its brook-trout and rainbow-trout fishing — lakes stocked every week, summer and winter, with no nuisance species or predatory fish, where the fishing stays excellent even in midsummer. Beyond fishing, it is a true family outdoor centre: beach, kayaks, pedal boats, paddleboards, water slides, hiking trails, a petting farm, a lookout and a 100-foot waterfall, and in winter a lit skating rink, snowshoe trails, tube slides, ice fishing and snowmobiling. Lodging ranges from rooms in the mountain inn to 25 fully equipped lakeside cabins (2 to 12 people).
