Pourvoirie Québec Nature

About
Pourvoirie Québec Nature occupies a vast exclusive territory in the heart of the Monts-Valin, in the Saguenay. A single species runs through all of its lakes and rivers: native brook trout, all of the same strain, caught on the fly or with light spinning gear on the large Lac Portneuf (14 km) and some fifteen other small lakes, as well as by wading or on a fly-fishers-only stretch of the Portneuf River. The territory also offers bear hunting (baited sites, paired with June fishing as a combo), moose hunting from blinds or by ATV along nearly 100 km of trails, and small-game hunting (ruffed grouse, spruce grouse, hare). In winter, the region — among the snowiest in Quebec, with accumulations of 5 to 7 m — lends itself to snowmobiling and ice fishing. Lodging is at the inn (American plan, 5 rooms, 10 beds) or in a choice of log cabins overlooking the lake, several of them right at the water's edge. The inn serves French cuisine with a view over Lac Portneuf, made from local products. Family activities include a playground, mountain biking, hiking, a pontoon boat, pedal boats and kayaks.
