Pourvoirie Damville

On the 49th parallel, deep in the boreal forest north of the Lac-Saint-Jean region, Pourvoirie Damville occupies 11,300 hectares (113 km²) of exclusive-rights territory scattered with 43 native lakes and bordered by the majestic Ashuapmushuan River. The freshly renovated forest inn overlooks Lac Damville and its beach: three refined rooms — including two family suites and the Boréale suite with its tub facing the water — plus a bar, a leather-and-fur lounge, a three-season patio and a table d'hôte served morning, noon and night. Four fully equipped chalets, each with its own deck on the lake, welcome those who would rather cook their catch on their own terms. In summer you fish for big pike, walleye, native brook trout, lake trout, whitefish and burbot: boat, motor and gas are included, and a guide can join you for a full or half day. In autumn, guided hunts target moose, black bear and wolf, partridge and migratory birds — snow goose, Canada goose, woodcock and ducks. In winter, the Winter Dream stay opens the private trails to snowmobiling, snowshoeing and dog sledding, and ice fishing takes over on the frozen lake. Add swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, waterskiing, ATV outings, bear and beaver watching, and berry picking. The outfitter is open year-round and can be privatized in full for a corporate event.
