The Auberge du Lac-à-l'Eau-Claire unfolds at Saint-Alexis-des-Monts, in the Mauricie region, along one of Quebec's most beautiful natural lakes, which gave the establishment its name. It is one of Quebec's leading trout-fishing centres: brook trout (speckled/omble de Fontaine) and lake trout (touladi) abound in a dozen lakes stocked every year, while the great Lac-à-l'Eau-Claire is also home to rainbow trout and smallmouth bass. Fishing runs from spring to fall, with ice fishing in winter, and the Chef will gladly prepare your catch. An on-site rental centre supplies fishing rights, boats, motors and equipment (only the outfitter's boats are allowed on the lakes). Accommodations range from inn rooms and pavilion rooms to lakeview condos and cottages (2 to 5 bedrooms). There is also a table d'hôte restaurant, a wellness centre (Espace Santé: massage therapy, aquatic centre) and a wealth of four-season activities: canoe, kayak, biking, tennis, wildlife watching, hiking, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
