About

Pourvoirie Clauparo Monts-Valin stretches across the heart of the Monts-Valin (Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean), on a wild territory dating back to the era of private fishing clubs and known for its exceptional snowfall (5 to 7 metres in winter). Fishing is for native brook trout (speckled trout) across a vast network of lakes and rivers (rivière Tagi, rivière aux Sables) where stocking is forbidden — every trout caught is wild; a 7.5 lb specimen was taken here in 2012. Hunting targets moose, black bear (a network of baited sites and tree stands) and small game (hare, partridge, ruffed grouse) on a territory divided into three distinct sectors — Lac Léonce, Lac Archer and Lac Périgny — with a network of salt licks and blinds. In winter, the outfitter also opens its doors to snowmobile outings. Lodging is in fully equipped lakeside chalets, European plan (no meals), including a large chalet that can host up to 12 people at lac Archer.
