About

Set on Lac Itomamo in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean backcountry, Pourvoirie Homamo covers a wild 129 km² territory dotted with 45 lakes (about fifteen of them worked for fishing) and 3 rivers. The fishing is for native speckled (brook) trout — plentiful and reaching up to 10 pounds — on pure, fish-rich lakes reached by trails. For hunting, the territory offers moose (8 exclusive sectors of about 10 km² each), black bear (access to the whole territory) and small game (150 km of trails). Lodging is in 9 round-log cabins, rustic but clean and functional, spread across 3 sites and sleeping up to 10 people. Beyond hunting and fishing, you can swim, stand-up paddleboard, canoe, ride an ATV (your own or rented), hike while watching wildlife and picking wild blueberries, run the river with wilderness camping, and in winter go off-trail snowmobiling and ice fishing. The name comes from the Innu-aimun word 'Étamamiou', meaning 'height of land' and 'watershed divide'.
