About

Established in 1969 on the shores of Lac Matchi-Manitou in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, right by the northern edge of the La Vérendrye wildlife reserve, the outfitter opens onto a 12 km by 6 km lake known for the quality of its fishing and hunting and lined with fine sand beaches. You fish for walleye, northern pike and lake trout here, while Lac Savoie is set aside for exclusive brook-trout fishing. On the hunting side, black bear is the house speciality — baited sites and a very good success rate — ahead of moose and small game: ruffed grouse, spruce grouse, hare, duck and waterfowl. Lodging ranges from pine-log luxury cabins facing the lake to rustic camps, four-season yurts and a 16-site semi-serviced campground. Boats, motors, kayaks, pedal boats and paddleboards wait on site, along with a convenience store, a field-dressing room and freezing for your catch. From December to March, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and skiing extend the season.
