About

Just minutes from Val-d'Or, in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Pourvoirie du Nord sits on the Decelles reservoir, a body of water spanning more than 200 km² formed in a former natural salt reservoir (hence its name) and recognized as one of the best fishing spots in northwestern Quebec, teeming with walleye and northern pike thanks to its many spawning grounds. Ice fishing is offered from January to March in the comfort of heated cabins. From mid-May to late June, bear-hunting enthusiasts enjoy baited sites and expert guides, with a near-100% success rate — several harvested animals even appear in the Pope & Young records. Small-game hunting (partridge, hare and more) and snowmobiling round out the offering. Lodging includes 16 fully equipped cabins, 8 rooms in a handsome round-log lodge, and 48 three-service campsites, 4 of them lakeside. On site: restaurant, bar, fishing-tackle and souvenir shop, convenience store, boat launch and docks, boat rental with motor and gas, guided hunting and fishing service, and Wi-Fi. Children 5 and under stay free; a reduced rate applies to ages 6 to 12. Pets are welcome in cabins and at the campground (fees apply in cabins).
