Pourvoirie du Nord (Baie Carrière)

Pourvoirie du Nord sits on the shore of the Decelles reservoir in Abitibi-Témiscamingue: a body of water of more than 200 km² formed in a former natural salt basin, packed with spawning grounds and known as one of the best walleye and northern pike fishing spots in northwestern Quebec. In winter, ice fishing runs from January to March in the comfort of wood-stove-heated huts. From mid-May to late June, black bear hunters enjoy an exclusive 9,000 km² territory in the La Vérendrye wildlife reserve, with 125 baited sites, expert guides and a success rate close to 100% — several bears taken here have made the Pope & Young records. Small game (partridge, hare, woodcock) can also be hunted freely across the territory. For your stay: 16 fully-equipped chalets sleeping up to 10, 8 rooms in a charming log lodge, and a 48-site full-hookup campground, several sites right on the water. On site you will find a restaurant-bar, a convenience store and a hunting-and-fishing shop, gas (premium unleaded and 100LL aviation), propane, Wi-Fi, a boat launch, docks, boat-and-motor rentals and both fishing and hunting guide services. Snowmobile and ATV trails, a 5 km snowshoe and fitness trail, a skating rink, pedal boats and kayaks round out the offering. Pets are welcome in the chalets and at the campground.
