About

On Anticosti, Quebec's largest island (nearly 8,000 km² at the mouth of the Gulf of St. Lawrence), Pourvoirie Lac Geneviève d'Anticosti holds an exclusive 721 km² territory renowned for its abundance of white-tailed deer. In fall, you hunt deer at your own pace in zone 20 — where the Anticosti-exclusive licence allows two deer of any category — on the American plan (guided, all meals), the European plan, or the self-guided rustic plan at the Camp du Lac Valiquette. Each group is assigned an exclusive sector within the vast territory. In summer, from mid-June to late August, vacation packages with a vehicle and lodging let you explore the island: spectacular geological formations, the ecomuseum and abandoned villages, shipwrecks and lighthouses, and wildlife — deer, foxes, beavers, otters, seals and bald eagles — plus shoreline hikes where forest meets sea and brook-trout fishing offered by daily lottery. Lodging ranges from the five 4-star cedar cabins on Lac Geneviève (max 6 people) to the two former lighthouse-keeper houses at Pointe-Nord by the sea (max 8 people). The main camp sits 30 minutes (32 km) from Port-Menier, the island's only village. A working outfitter since 1982.

Access : Fly-in · By boat

Access to Anticosti Island is by air or by boat depending on the navigation season. For American- and European-plan hunting, the outfitter organizes a round-trip charter flight from Mont-Joli (transport extra, not included in the package; rustic clients subject to seat availability from June on); baggage limited to 70 lb per person, one cooler max per group. Scheduled flights to Port-Menier are also available from Montréal, Québec, Baie-Comeau, Sept-Îles and Havre-Saint-Pierre (PAAR program). Marine transport on the Bella Desgagnés ferry. The main camp is 30 minutes (32 km) from Port-Menier and the airport.

Hunting zone 20
