On Anticosti Island, at the mouth of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, Sépaq Anticosti is a vast exclusive-rights outfitter operating close to three quarters of this 5,585 km² island, dotted with 48 lakes and several rivers, two of them salmon rivers. Above all it is white-tailed deer country: descended from the 220 animals introduced by Henri Menier in 1896, the herd now shows the highest deer density in eastern North America, with no predators at all, and every hunter may take two deer. The packages cover every style — a guided American plan with meals served in the dining room, a European plan with or without a guide, in a chalet or a rustic camp, or the prestigious Jupiter 12 lodge and its exclusive 388 km² sector — on territories averaging 125 to 300 km². In summer the island belongs to fly fishing: Atlantic salmon along some fifty kilometres of the crystal-clear Jupiter River, on the Chaloupe and Ferrée or on La Loutre, and brook trout in the lakes, not forgetting sea trout. For holidaymakers, the 16-room Auberge Port-Menier overlooking the gulf, the seaside Auberge McDonald, beachfront chalets and three camping sectors welcome families, photographers and hikers. Spectacular waterfalls, canyons, a lighthouse, the abandoned village of Baie-Sainte-Claire, Anticosti national park and some of the richest fossil beds in the world round out the stay. Air transport is included in most packages, departing from Mont-Joli, Québec or Mirabel.

Access : Fly-in

Anticosti Island, at the mouth of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, has no road link to the mainland: it is reached by air and by boat. Sépaq Anticosti includes air transport in most of its packages — fixed-wing flights (Strait Air, Nolinor and Chrono Aviation) landing at Port-Menier, departing from Mont-Joli, Québec or Mirabel. For hunting, most departures are from Mirabel, Québec and Mont-Joli: the west sectors leave from Mont-Joli (surcharge for a Québec or Mirabel departure), the east sectors from Québec or Mirabel (surcharge already included in the package price). For June fishing, departures are from Mont-Joli; for lake trout fishing and salmon on the La Loutre River, from Mont-Joli, Québec or Mirabel; the Jupiter and Chaloupe salmon packages do not include the flight. On the 2026 holiday packages a $250/person surcharge applies to a Québec or Mirabel departure. Airport parking, fees not reimbursed by the establishment: Mirabel (Terminal 2) free, Québec (Trans-Sol terminal) $13/day, Mont-Joli $6/day. On the island all travel is over a network of gravel roads; a vehicle equipped with a two-way radio and unlimited mileage (gas and insurance extra) comes with most packages, and a four-passenger 4x4 can be rented for stays at the Auberge Port-Menier ($185/day, taxes extra, plus roughly $125 of gas, bookable on the island only). The only village is Port-Menier, in the west of the island; the Auberge McDonald is 105 km from Port-Menier, the Jupiter 12 lodge 115 km by road, and the Wilcox, Chicotte and Baie-de-la-Tour campgrounds 118 km, 161 km and 179 km respectively. Campsites are offered only to visitors who reach and travel the island fully self-sufficiently. Pets are not allowed, except guide and service dogs.
