About

An exclusive-rights territory since 1995, Lac Demi-Lune is bordered by the Réservoir Gouin to the west and the Nemio River to the east. Reserved for a limited number of anglers and hunters, this territory is a true gem for walleye and northern pike fishing, as well as for black bear, moose and small-game hunting. Lodging is in one of seven cabins spread across the territory (Moore, Barkwill, Robert, Durivage, Labrecque, Phaneuf, Hudzina): six are reachable by vehicle, with only the Durivage reachable by boat. Each cabin is fitted with a propane kitchen (fridge, oven-stove and BBQ), a wood stove with pre-cut logs, a campfire spot, a full bathroom with shower and a dock. Guiding is available on request, and the territory also lends itself to leisure stays, wild-berry picking in season, and exploring the waterways by canoe and kayak. European plan (self-catering); water is not potable in the cabins, though a water source is reachable by boat on the Réservoir Gouin.

Access : By road · By boat

Road access to the Lac Demi-Lune outfitter; six of the seven cabins are reachable by vehicle, with only the Durivage cabin reachable by boat only (10-15 min navigation). From Mont-Saint-Michel: Route 309, turn right onto Chemin de Parent; at km 80 turn left (toward Parent, Lu-Nic snack bar), then at km 106 turn right. From La Tuque: Boulevard Ducharme, Rue Saint-Joseph, Rue Bostonnais, then Chemin Moisan (Route 25) toward Parent. From Parent to the Lac Demi-Lune outfitter (about 1 hour's drive): cross the railway, turn right just after the stop, cross the railway again and continue on the same road; at km 31 turn right, at km 51 (Camp Kawai) keep right, turn right at km 58, left at km 0.7, right at km 6.9, then continue to km 7: the Lac Demi-Lune red gatekeeper's cabin is on the left. A train runs to Parent; flying in is also possible (no departure base specified on the site). Downloadable directions and a Google Maps link are provided on the site.
