About
Pourvoirie du lac Oscar spreads across 234 km² of wild nature in the Haute-Mauricie region, in zone 26, on the La Tuque territory. At the heart of the property, the vast Réservoir Blanc — navigable for more than 80 km — is ideal for walleye and pike fishing, while a dozen surrounding lakes and streams (including lakes McTavish and Grundy) offer trout fishing for brook trout and lake trout. Hunters find one of Quebec's largest exclusive territories: moose hunting on sectors of 12 to 28 km², small-game hunting (partridge, spruce grouse, hare) and guided bear hunting over baited sites. The outfitter also offers a meditation, Qi Gong and conscious-breathing retreat, plus a wealth of outdoor activities: swimming off fine sand beaches, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing, hiking, cycling, wildlife and bird watching, and blueberry and mushroom picking. Lodging is in white-pine cabins, all on the water on large private lots (European plan). A Farrar family passion: the family has run cabins in the Haute-Mauricie since the late 1960s and acquired Pourvoirie du lac Oscar in 1987.

Access : By road
Reachable by car. Directions from La Tuque: on Route 155 north, take the first exit for La Tuque; leaving La Tuque, follow the blue government signs for Pourvoirie Oscar, then take forest road 25 west. The outfitter is on the right at kilometre 50, just past the bridge. The last 48 kilometres are gravel. GPS coordinates: N 47° 35.21 – W 73° 22.27. Topographic map 31P/11, zone 26, Mauricie tourism region. (Historical note: the territory was accessible only by floatplane before it was acquired in 1987.)
