Moose Territory Lodge

Moose Territory Lodge is a rustic hunting and fishing camp in northern Quebec, established in 1959 by Gérard Bastein and taken over by the current owners in 2009. From three fully equipped camps set high in wild mountains on Marion Lake, you reach 45 private exclusive lakes across a 165 km² (65 sq mi) leased territory, bordered by the La Vérendrye wildlife reserve and unchanged for over 50 years thanks to full exclusive control. Fishing targets four species: walleye (yellow and blue, abundant at Cedar and Arnot lakes a 5-minute portage away), trophy-size northern pike in Marion Lake's bays, speckled (brook) trout, and lake trout — the latter spring-fed, cold and excellent even in summer. Boats, motors and gas are supplied at no extra charge. On the hunting side: moose on private exclusive territory (comfortable camps, ATV transport) and spring black bear over baited sites. About ten outpost camps (Marion, Arnot, Bapati, Caughlin, Christian, Clement, Hervi, Monic, Pike Bay, Trap Lake) sleep 4 to 10 people, each with a view of its own lake, an outdoor BBQ and a fish fryer — several with running water and plumbing. This is not a resort but a genuine camp, far from civilization.
