About

Bryson Lake Lodge (Domaine du Lac Bryson) invites you to discover more than 140 km² of exclusive territory in western Quebec, in Zone 12, north of Pontiac County. Renowned for its outstanding fishing, the lodge holds 17 exclusive lakes home to four major species: deep-water lake trout, trophy walleye and northern pike, and brook trout. For hunters, it offers semi-guided moose hunting (twenty exclusive territories, an early season three weeks ahead of Crown land), guided spring black bear hunting over bait (May 15 to June 30), and small-game hunting in October (ruffed and spruce grouse, woodcock, hare, duck and Canada geese). Lodging is in fifteen new or renovated lakefront cottages, some on private islands, accommodating 2 to 14 people (European plan, equipped kitchen; some with interior washroom and electricity, hot showers in a central showerhouse). Canoeing, paddle boats, a games room, a playground and a satellite telephone round out the experience of a true wilderness getaway.

Location & access

Lac-Nilgaut (46.3976, -76.9816)

Access : By road · By boat

Road access in western Quebec (Zone 12), north of Pontiac County. From Fort Coulonge: take Route 148 West to Fort Coulonge, go through town and 2 km further turn right on Bois Franc Road; drive 4.5 km and turn left on Jim Road (Bryson Lake Lodge sign on the corner); continue to km 72, drive 1 km more, turn right on the first road, then 16 km to the lodge. The operator recommends its custom map: Google Maps and many GPS devices often give wrong directions. Some cottages sit on private islands, reached by boat from the lodge. GPS coordinates: 46.398304, -76.982041. Open May to October. Temporary notice (2026): following a fire, some cottages are unavailable and the usual road to the site is temporarily closed; the operator provides an alternative route.
