Les Gîtes Dumoine Nature

Les Gîtes Dumoine Nature is the outfitter (pourvoirie) of Zec Dumoine, on the shore of Lac aux Sangsues in the Témiscamingue unorganized territory (Abitibi-Témiscamingue). It is the only Zec in Quebec that owns an outfitter offering this kind of lodging: rustic wood gîtes dating from the era of the old private clubs, when wealthy Americans settled along the lake and built camps as luxurious as the inns of the time, some entirely finished in varnished wood. People come for the fishing 'grand slam' — walleye, northern pike, brook trout, lake trout and splake (moulac) — as well as for bear hunting over baited sites. The cabins (Brook, Dortoir, Keeper, Club, Keal on an island, Camp Loutre, Nancy) are heated with propane and wood and equipped with a shower, hot water, generator electricity, a propane fridge, a dock and an outdoor fire pit. Boats and motors are available for rent on site. A natural and historical heritage to discover, in the heart of a wild territory.
