About

Le Pourvoyeur de l'Est Canadien (Eastern Canadian Outfitters) operates more than 230 km² of wilderness across two Quebec destinations. At Lac Mer Bleue (5 km by 2 km, almost 300 feet deep), an exclusive-rights territory tucked near Cayamant in Western Quebec, you fish for large and smallmouth bass (renowned for trophies), northern pike, walleye and lake trout, with plenty of panfish for families; 4-star waterfront lodging ranges from the 'Managers Cabin' to the 2-bedroom 'The Garage' unit (sleeps up to 8) and the seasonal 'Paradise Point' outpost cabin. Lac Camachigama (26 km²), a remote wilderness lake in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region reached by barge, hosts a central camp of 12 cabins on Grosse Île island and offers one of Quebec's premier walleye fisheries (yellow walleye, blue walleye, sauger, northern pike and even lake sturgeon). For hunting, the exclusive-rights territory offers moose (weekly self-guided or guided camps, two territories of about 15 km², 1 bull per group), black bear (guided spring and fall hunts over baited sites), white-tailed deer (territory divided into 4 zones, Quality Deer Management, 6-point rule) and small game (ruffed grouse, hare, woodcock). A family outfitter run by owner Rob Argue, a fish and wildlife management technician.
