L'Auberge de la Rouge

Built in 1997 and run by Michèle Veillette and Normand Desjardins since 2007, Pourvoirie l'Auberge de la Rouge is a 4-star inn tucked into the wild forest of the upper Côte-Nord, north of Forestville. Anglers fish for native brook trout and lake trout, while hunters pursue moose, black bear and small game in zone 18. Lodging comes in American (3 meals a day) or European plan: the 4-star inn (up to 14 people, rooms with full bathrooms), Chalet Nathalie (4 to 6 people), Camp Ariane (4 to 6 people, 1 km from the inn with its own beach) and Loft Edouard (4 to 8 people, perfect for groups). Every package includes a boat and motor for two people. On-site dining, boat and motor rental, gas sales, worms and fishing tackle, a satellite phone and a guide service round out the offering. All around: swimming, canoeing, hiking, cycling, ATV trails, berry picking and wildlife watching, amid breathtaking scenery.
