Pourvoirie Waban-Aki

Since 2008, Katerine LeCavalier and Bruno Caron have lived year-round on the grounds of Pourvoirie Waban-Aki, welcoming guests to a 110 km² territory in the Mauricie where two rivers and some twenty lakes hold native and stocked brook trout, while Lac Collet holds splake. Careful management, spawning-bed restoration and controlled fishing pressure keep the fishing excellent from spring through summer. On the hunting side, the outfitter has 8 exclusive moose territories of more than 10 km² each (parties of 2 to 4 hunters, 1 moose per party), more than 30 baited bear sites with elevated and ground blinds — offered on the American plan, with access to the Saint-Maurice wildlife reserve territory — and a lightly hunted small-game territory. You sleep in 14 European-plan chalets, 6 renovated and 8 recently built, all on a lakeshore and half of them tucked away in the wild, or in one of the two Wabanadôme glamping domes with their barrel sauna. Kayaks and paddleboards are free to use, a games room awaits families, and depending on the season you can add dog-sledding outings and horseback rides.
