Deep in the boreal forest near Chibougamau, Pourvoirie Rohault watches over a secluded territory and two lakes, Lac Rohault and Lac Bouteroue, known for their walleye, northern pike and lake trout. Seven rustic, welcoming chalets — three on the shores of Lac Bouteroue, four on the larger Lac Rohault — sleep 2 to 10 people, each with a fully equipped propane kitchenette, a wood stove and a rowboat included on request. Founded more than 25 years ago and taken over in 2022 by Rock and Johanne, the outfitter keeps the chalet spirit alive: authenticity, the quiet of a remote site and a warm, unfussy family welcome. In the fall, the forests also lend themselves to small-game hunting and long walks. The territory sits in zone 28.

Access : By road

Road access only, over a 23 km forest road. Arriving via Parc des Laurentides or La Tuque: after St-Félicien and La Doré, turn left onto the Route de Chibougamau (Explorers) at km 190, where a sign for Pourvoirie Rohault is visible; drive 4.5 km to a small bridge, then take the road entrance toward the outfitter — ignore the 'road closed' sign — and continue for 23 km. Signs at 15, 11 and 6 km confirm you are on the right track; on arrival, the outfitter is on your right. Arriving via Parc de La Vérendrye (Maniwaki side): after Louvicourt, turn right onto Rte 113 South/QC-113 North; in Senneterre, turn left onto 4e Rue O./Rte 113, right onto 10e Avenue, left onto 3e Rue O., right onto 14e Avenue, then right onto QC-167 South; at Lac Caché, turn right to the Route de Chibougamau (Explorers), at km 190. The final stretch is rugged, with rocky sections and a few rough passages: an SUV or a truck is essential and you should allow 1 to 1.5 hours for the 23 km (more when towing a boat trailer).
