About

Deep in the wilderness near Chibougamau, Pourvoirie Rohault watches over one unique territory and two large lakes, Lac Rohault and Lac Bouteroue, where you fish for walleye, northern pike and lake trout (touladi) in zone 28. Seven rustic, welcoming log chalets sleep 2 to 10 people: three on the peaceful shores of Lac Bouteroue, four on the larger Lac Rohault. Each has a full propane kitchenette, a wood stove for cooler evenings, generator power and battery lighting — and a boat comes with your rental, on request. Outboard motors are available to rent with gas included, and each of the two lakes has its own boat launch. In the fall the forest also lends itself to small-game hunting and to hikes through the colours. The site sits alone at the end of a 23 km forest road and is run without fuss: pets are welcome and children 11 and under are our guests for the night, free of charge. A family adventure led by Rock and Johanne, owners since November 2022 of an outfitter created more than 25 years ago.

Source discrepancy to reconcile: the Infos Utiles page (page_id=1653, 'Chalet' and 'Embarcations' tabs) still advertises the motor 'for rent at $50/day'. The Tarifs page's $65/day is taken as the more current figure. A boat is included with every chalet rental, on request; you may also bring your own motor or your own boat (boat launch on both lakes).

Access : By road

Road access only, in zone 28. The final approach is a 23 km forest road: an SUV or truck is essential, the road is rustic with rocky sections and a few rougher stretches, and you should allow 1 to 1.5 hours to drive it (more if you are towing a boat trailer). Arriving via Parc des Laurentides or La Tuque: after St-Félicien and La Doré, turn left onto Rte de Chibougamau Explorers at km 190, where a sign for Pourvoirie Rohault is visible; drive 4.5 km to a small bridge, then take the road entrance toward the outfitter — ignore the 'chemin barré' (road closed) sign and continue for 23 km. Signs at 15, 11 and 6 km confirm you are on the right road. Arriving via Parc de La Vérendrye (Maniwaki): after Louvicourt, turn right onto Rte 113 Sud/QC-113 N; at Senneterre, turn left onto 4e Rue O/Rte 113 Sud/QC-113 N, right onto 10e Avenue/Rte 113 Sud/QC-113 N, left onto 3e Rue O/Rte 113 Sud/QC-113 N, then right onto 14e Avenue/Rte 113 Sud/QC-113 N and finally right onto QC-167 S; at Lac Caché, turn right and continue to Rte de Chibougamau Explorers at km 190. On arrival, the welcome point is on your right. Site GPS coordinates: 49.386817, -74.234419. Boat launch on both lakes. The water on site is not potable — bring your own drinking water.
