Le Goose Shack Outfitters is an outfitter built around migratory bird hunting — snow goose, Canada goose, field ducks, diving ducks and sea ducks, American woodcock — following the migration through Quebec's most productive corridors, from Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean to Mauricie, Centre-du-Québec, Lac Saint-Pierre, Bas-Saint-Laurent and out to the Lower North Shore. The offering also covers spring wild turkey in the Trois-Rivières–Portneuf corridor, black bear on exclusive-access private land in Mauricie, Portneuf and Lac-Saint-Jean, and white-tailed deer on exclusive parcels in zones 7 North, 26 West and 27 West. Formats run from a guided half day to 3- and 5-day packages bundling hunting, lodging, meals and a guide, all the way to a 6-day Borealis eider trip on the Lower North Shore. The guiding team is trained in first aid and remote-area response, safe firearms handling and small-boat operation. Lodging is in cabins near the Saint-Prime marina on Lac-Saint-Jean, or in the self-catered lodge that sleeps up to 14.

Access : By road

Road-accessible base of operations at Saint-Narcisse, in Mauricie (GPS coordinates published on the site: 46.5643 / -72.5278). Guided hunts take place on farm, forest and private land spread across Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, Mauricie, Centre-du-Québec, the Lac Saint-Pierre sector, between Trois-Rivières and Portneuf, in Bas-Saint-Laurent (Kamouraska) and in the southwest of the province; the sector and meeting point are set at booking. Diving-duck and sea-duck hunts are run from a boat or a layout boat on the St. Lawrence. Borealis eider trips take place in two North Shore sectors: Havre-Saint-Pierre, in the Mingan archipelago, reachable by Route 138; and La Tabatière, on the Lower North Shore, reachable only by plane or by the 'Relais Nordique' ferry from the end of Route 138 at Kegaska — allow roughly 24 hours for the crossing. The rental cabins are near the Saint-Prime marina on Lac-Saint-Jean. You may park a trailer at the operator's facilities during the deer-hunting period.
