About

Pourvoirie du Lac Dégelis is tucked into the Monts-Valin, in the greater Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region (zone 28), at the heart of one of the world's largest basins of indigenous brook trout. Its 115 km² territory takes in 52 lakes and more than 150 km of forest roads, and its reception site borders a white-sand beach over a kilometre long. Here you fish for completely wild brook trout with no stocking whatsoever: with only six or seven cabins open for about twenty weeks, fishing pressure stays light across the 52 lakes. In autumn the territory offers a high-quality moose hunt (zone 28 divided into three exclusive territories of roughly 40 km² each with blinds and salt licks, parties of 4, a maximum of 6 parties per season); two black-bear hunt and observation sites are also set up. Lodging is in six round-log cabins on the European plan, some over 80 years old, all equipped (propane kitchen and fridge, BBQ, full bathroom with shower and hot water, electricity from a generator 7pm to 10pm). For the outdoors: ATV riding, hiking trails, berry picking, swimming, pedal boats and kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals. The Deschênes family welcomes visitors.
