Pourvoirie J.e. Goyette

Pourvoirie J.E. Goyette sits on a 116.2 km² exclusive-rights territory in the heart of a red-pine forest, near La Tuque in the Mauricie. Born from a former private club founded in the late 19th century and run by the Goyette family from 1930 to 2014, it is today owned by Guy Paradis and his family. Eight chalets, several of them a century old, each sleep up to 12 people and are rated 2 to 4 stars; packages are offered on the European plan for fishing, hunting and vacation stays. Moose hunters enjoy an average success rate of around 70%, and the territory is also excellent for bear and small-game hunting (hare, partridge). For anglers, around thirty lakes — a dozen of them reachable by car — hold brook trout, lake trout and northern pike, with generous harvests and no catch-and-release. Here, trophies are not rare. Open from mid-May to late October.
