About

Set on a 116.2 km² exclusive-rights territory in the heart of the Mauricie, Pourvoirie J.E. Goyette is a former private-club property turned family outfitter. Around thirty lakes (about a dozen reachable by car) hold brook trout, lake trout (grey trout) and northern pike — trophies are not rare here. In the fall, moose hunting runs with a reported success rate of around 70%, and the territory also offers spring bear hunting (seven hunting sites) and small-game hunting (partridge, hare). Lac Gaucher, 4 km long with its white-sand beaches, is made for vacation stays: pedal boats, kayaks, paddleboards, a floating platform, mountain-bike and pontoon outings, wood-turtle watching and stargazing. Lodging is in 8 comfortable cabins rated 2 to 4 stars, each sleeping up to 12, offered on the European plan for fishing, hunting and vacation stays.

Access : By road

Road access in the Mauricie region, about 1 hour from La Tuque. From La Tuque, take forest road 461 (route 25), then junction 459 (junction 23 South). Roughly 4 hours from Montréal and Québec City. In the club's early years the property was reachable only by plane or portage; today access is by road.
