About

Set on the shores of Lac Magpie, deep in the boreal forest of the Côte-Nord, Pourvoirie du Lac Magpie is a remote camp reachable only by floatplane. Its territory, held without exclusive rights, has been a protected area since June 19, 2003: a ministerial order shielded it from logging, mining and hydroelectric projects, and it is slated to become a biodiversity reserve. The fishing is for northern pike, landlocked salmon and lake trout, and the hunting is firearm moose hunting in zone 19. Lodging consists of three cabins and a camp, on the European or American plan, with a fishing guide available and a hunting guide at extra cost. On site: boats and motors, freezer and ice, game storage, bedding provided, emergency communications, battery charging and aircraft or floatplane charter. The season runs from June 1 to October 20.
