On the waters of the majestic Réservoir Gouin, Pourvoirie Baie de l'Est is a fishing camp reachable only by floatplane. Eight cabins, each in its own bay, guarantee absolute tranquility. Anglers pursue yellow walleye and northern pike from mid-May to mid-September among a string of islands with rocky shores, sandy points and weed-filled bays — the best spots sit just minutes from the cabins. The cabins are set up on the European plan: propane stove, solar-powered fridge-freezer, oil heating, running (non-potable) water, interior shower and toilet. Fishing is done from provided 15-foot aluminum boats with swivel seats and Yamaha 15 hp motors. The outfitter also offers a European-plan moose hunt through the affiliated Jesmer and Tibériade outfitters: 24 exclusive territories in zone 14, reached by floatplane, with a private cabin, boats, tree stands and aerial monitoring. A warm, personalized stay made for unwinding: sunrises and sunsets, blueberry picking and a fresh-walleye shore lunch on the beach.

Access : Fly-in

Access by floatplane only; the round-trip scenic flight is included in the packages. Departure point at Rivière-Rouge (Ste-Véronique sector), reached via routes 15 and 117 North; from Gatineau via routes 50, 323 and 117 North (through Mont-Tremblant) or routes 50, 309 North and 117 South (through Mont-Laurier). Air Mont-Laurier's floatplane base is at Lac Tibériade, in the heart of the village of Ste-Véronique; free parking on site. Floatplane fleet of Cessna, Beaver Norseman and Turbo Otter; flight of about 1 h 10 to Baie de l'Est, on Réservoir Gouin. Baggage transport included up to 100 lb (45 kg) per person; overage billed at $2.00/lb (fishing) or $2.50/lb (hunting). Topographic maps 32B6 and 32B7. No cell service on site: a satellite phone and a Zoleo device are kept at camp for emergencies, working 24/7.
