About

Aventures Nipissi is an exclusive-rights outfitter in the heart of the taiga, north of Dolbeau-Mistassini, in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region (zone 29), in a transitional landscape between the boreal forest and the tundra. This fishing paradise — whose centerpieces are Lacs Maupertuis and Piraube — teems with brook trout, lake trout, pike and burbot; the fishing season runs from mid-May to mid-September. The managed territory allows hunting for moose (one moose per four hunters), bear and small game in zone 29 south. On-site: sandy beaches in shallow water on Lacs Piraube and Maupertuis, wildlife observation (moose, bear, small game and woodland caribou — more than 70 animals located in the zone) and an Indigenous archaeological site. Lodging is in fully equipped three- and four-star chalets (full kitchen, hot water, shower, slow-combustion stove), powered by solar panels and generators — four brand-new two-bedroom chalets sleeping four to six people, two chalets for two to four people, and a seventh, more rustic chalet for fourteen people.

Access : By road

Access by gravel forest road (~200 km) north of Dolbeau-Mistassini, zone 29 ('How to get there' page). At the entrance to Mistassini (via Alma, Route 169), turn right; the forest road begins across from the Produits forestiers Résolu offices. At km 71, keep left on the main road; at km 125.3, keep left (cross 2 bridges); at km 156.4, turn right toward Lac Maupertuis (kilometre count resets to 1). Cross a bridge at km 8 (Mistassini River); at km 31 continue straight; at km 34, the outfitter's sign (welcome post) — turn right and follow the markers for about 3 km. Gravel road shared with forestry companies (off-road logging trucks, dust).
