Pourvoirie Anna V. Roy et Fils

Pourvoirie Anna Roy & Fils is a family-run waterfowl-hunting outfitter on Isle-aux-Grues, the only year-round inhabited island of its 21-island archipelago, in the heart of the St. Lawrence River in Chaudière-Appalaches, just downstream from Île d'Orléans. Founded in the 1990s by Anna and Yvon Roy and now run by their three sons, it has offered for more than 30 years the fall hunt for snow goose and duck (September to mid-November) as well as a spring snow-goose hunt, right in the path of the great migration. Hunters enjoy exceptional hunting sites along the river and in the fields, comfortable and safe blinds, state-of-the-art decoys, and a migratory-bird guide present at all times, each with his own retriever dog. Lodging is in one of two chalets: 'Au soleil couchant' (7 people, river view) or the log cabin 'de l'Amer' (6 people, in the forest with water access), with or without a meal plan. The island offers a spectacular panorama over the Laurentides, Mont-Sainte-Anne, the Côte-du-Sud and the neighbouring islands.
