On the south shore of the Gouin Reservoir — a vast 6,000 km² inland sea, the largest and most fish-filled body of water in southern Quebec — Pourvoirie Achimac is a walleye and northern pike fishing destination. Lodging comes in two 'deluxe 4-star' houseboats rebuilt in 2009 — Le Matelot (4 to 6 people, 2 boats) and Le Capitaine (6 to 8 people, 3 boats), each with a kitchen, hot-water shower, BBQ, sonar and GPS — and in seven cabins equipped with propane gas, a wood stove, shower and hot water. Packages include a boat and motor, and cabin lodging is free for children 17 and under. Pets are welcome.
