On the southern shore of Réservoir Gouin — a vast 6,000 km² inland sea, the largest and most fish-rich body of water in southern Quebec — Pourvoirie Achimac is a walleye and northern pike fishing destination set in the middle of an endless forest. Lodging comes in two 'deluxe 4-star' houseboats rebuilt in 2009 — Le Matelot (4 to 6 people, 2 boats) and Le Capitaine (6 to 8 people, 3 boats), each with a kitchen, hot-water shower, BBQ, sonar and GPS — and in chalets equipped with propane gas, a wood stove, shower and hot water. Packages include a boat and motor, weekly family packages are available, and chalet lodging is free for children 17 and under. Pets are welcome.

Access : By road

Road access. The outfitter is on the southern shore of Réservoir Gouin, deep in the forest, about 1 hour's drive from Parent, reached by forest road via Mont-Laurier or via La Tuque. The operator strongly recommends one of these two routes rather than other itineraries suggested by Google Maps. Site coordinates: 48° 19' 20" N, 74° 15' 3.1" W.
