Mabec

Pourvoirie Mabec is a trophy brook-trout fishing paradise tucked into the boreal forest of the Côte-Nord, along the Manitou River and reachable only by helicopter from Sept-Îles (about a 30-minute flight). Its 105 km² territory forms a network of large lakes — Manitou, Canot, Brézel and des Eudistes — home to giant brook trout and Quebec red trout averaging over 1 kg (2 lb+); few anglers leave without joining the '5 lb and over' club. Mabec offers two kinds of fishing stays of 3, 4 or 7 days. The American VIP plan, on Lac Manitou, is a luxury all-inclusive package: a private room with full bathroom, an on-site chef, professional guides (1 per 2 anglers), a social pavilion with fireplace, bar, satellite TV and WiFi, and all fishing equipment supplied. The European plan, on Lac des Eudistes and Lac Brézel (minimum groups of 4), pairs the comfort of a fully equipped cabin with self-guided adventure. A motorized 16-foot boat with gas is provided on both plans. Trolling, spoon, spinning or fly fishing; limit of five fish per angler and single hooks only. The fishing season runs from late May to mid-September.
