Pourvoirie Baie Johan-Beetz

Pourvoirie Baie-Johan-Beetz is a salmonid sanctuary set in the wild nature of Minganie, on Quebec's Côte-Nord. It holds exclusive rights over three watersheds — Petite Rivière Watshishou (21 km), Rivière Piashti (6 km, 8 pools) and Petit lac Piashti — home to five species: Atlantic salmon, sea trout, Arctic char, brook trout and ouananiche (landlocked salmon). Anchored between boreal nature and Indigenous cultures, surrounded by sea-shaped landscapes, peat bogs, waterfalls and islets, the outfitter offers sustainable, small-group guided fishing: fly fishing on some waters and modern lures on others, all under a leave-no-trace, catch-and-release ethic. On site, the Johan-Beetz house — a Second Empire-inspired residence built in 1899 and classified as a heritage building — overlooks the Gulf of St. Lawrence at the mouth of the Piashti River; the 'Chez Mr Beetz' table showcases local products.
