About

Helen Falls Lodge (Les Aventures Ungava) is a world-class fly-fishing lodge in the heart of the Nunavik arctic tundra, on the banks of the George River near Ungava Bay. The lodge controls an exclusive fishing section about 4 km long where Atlantic salmon congregate by the tens of thousands, held up on their upstream migration by immense rapids — a multitude of pools form and shift as the water rises and falls, so there are never bad fishing conditions. Beyond the headline Atlantic salmon, the river holds Arctic char, lake trout and brook trout. A helicopter is kept on site: weather permitting, it's used to reach remote char fishing and to soar over fjords, glaciers, parks and wildlife — polar bears, musk ox, caribou — at the foot of the majestic Torngat Mountains. Lodging is in cabins that blend rustic charm with modern comfort (wood stove, comfortable beds, heated interiors, full-time electricity, plenty of hot water, Starlink high-speed internet), with gourmet cuisine. Fly-in access: a flight to Kuujjuaq, then a scenic charter flight that lands you right at the lodge. Experienced guides and pilots.
