Pourvoirie Rivière aux Feuilles

About
Leaf River Lodge (Pourvoirie Rivière aux Feuilles) is a remote family-run camp in Nunavik, set between Hudson Bay and Ungava Bay and reachable only by bush plane. Operating since 1992 — first for caribou hunting, later reoriented toward fly-fishing and wildlife observation and photography — the lodge sits on the Leaf River, which flows roughly 150 miles through untouched tundra. From early August to late September, anglers fish Atlantic salmon, brook trout and lake trout (grey trout) in some of the most pristine waters of northern Quebec. The territory is also the only place in the world to witness the migration of Quebec's largest caribou herd, the Leaf River herd, which travels about 6,000 km a year; black bear, willow ptarmigan, muskox and wolf round out the wildlife, along with the northern lights. The camp runs on a green-energy system (32 solar panels and 15 batteries) that replaced its diesel generators. Seven-day packages, lodging two per room, experienced guides and photographer-guides.
