About
Pourvoirie de l'Auberge Kempt Lodge sits entirely on islands in the large Kempt lake (reservoir), in northeastern Lanaudière, a few kilometres from the Mauricie. The Kempt reservoir is renowned for its fishing: lake trout, northern pike, walleye and yellow perch. On site, 3 chalets and 3 camps — comfortable, rustic, all built of round logs — sleep 3 to 10 people depending on the unit; being on islands, biting insects are far less of a nuisance. Each lodging has a gas range and fridge, solar lighting, a wood stove and an outdoor BBQ, with an on-site hot-water shower cabin; a motorless rowboat is provided per 2-3 people (9.9 hp motor available to rent). The lake offers fine beaches and wild islands nearby, in deep tranquillity.

All costs are taxable and may change without notice. Single rate across all 6 units (3 chalets + 3 camps), capacity 3 to 10 people depending on the unit. A rowboat (no motor, 2 oars + survival kit) is included per 2-3 people. Extras read on /services_tarifs.html: 9.9 hp gas motor $45/day; household-waste management fee $15/person/stay; provincial lodging tax $0.79/day/guest. Access: $6/vehicle at the Rivière-aux-Rats reception gate (a road toll, not an outfitter fee). Fishing on the Kempt reservoir: lake trout, walleye, northern pike, yellow perch. 128 km north of Saint-Michel-des-Saints, or 130 km from the Rivière-aux-Rats bridge (south of La Tuque), via forest road #1. Via Rivière-aux-Rats: from Trois-Rivières, Autoroute 55 North then Route 155 North (becomes the 155 at Grand-Mère); to Rivière-aux-Rats at km 85, cross the Rivière-aux-Rats bridge; pay $6/vehicle at the reception gate, then follow forest road #1 to km 130, where a yellow-and-green 'Pourvoirie Auberge Kempt Lodge' sign marks the turnoff; drive 2.4 km to the waterfront parking lot. Last gas station at Mattawin (km 46 on Route 155 North); plan for at least 350 km of range. On arrival at the dock, raise the flag to signal your presence: boat transport carries you to the island outfitter (confirm arrival time one week ahead).
