La Corneille

The Corneille River outfitter is a 5-star salmon-fishing estate tucked away on Quebec's Côte-Nord, about 8 km from Baie-Johan-Beetz at the gateway to the Mingan archipelago. It holds exclusive rights over a territory encompassing all 20 km of the Corneille River, a salmon river prized for the variety of its pools and its serenity, heir to the prestige of the old salmon trading posts and private clubs. Atlantic salmon is king here, but you can also fish brook trout, Arctic char, sea trout and ouananiche (landlocked salmon), guided by experienced staff. Lodging is in individual 5-star solar-powered chalets, each designed for two anglers, with a private bathroom, wood stove and cozy beds; a central pavilion houses the shared kitchen, a lounge with a fireplace and a dining room where you savour a gourmet table of regional flavours. Two islands reachable at the foot of the site invite kayaking and picnicking. A charming two-bedroom house sleeping up to four people is also available to rent in the village of Baie-Johan-Beetz.
