L'Auberge / Pourvoirie Kan-à-Mouche is the oldest outfitter in the Saint-Michel-des-Saints region (Lanaudière), founded in 1945 by Carmelle Daury on the shores of lac Carmel, among century-old spruces and pines. The site, which has kept its historic 1950s character, offers 9 log cabins (1 to 5 bedrooms, sleeping 2 to 10 people) and 5 forest-motel rooms, all on the European plan (kitchen or equipped kitchenette). Lac Carmel, stocked regularly, offers brook trout (omble de fontaine) and rainbow trout fishing on a self-sufficient basis: rowboats provided free of charge, electric motors only, limit of 8 trout per day, no catch-and-release. Summer: canoeing, swimming, wildlife watching (osprey, loons) and walking and interpretive trails all around the lake. Winter (normally snowshoeing, ice fishing, sledding): closed for winter 2025-26.

No fixed-price fishing package: fishing is NOT included in the cabin/room rate and is not sold as a separate package. You book lodging (from $123.81/night, motel) then fish self-guided. Lac Carmel regularly stocked with brook trout (omble de fontaine) and rainbow trout. Boats provided FREE (life jackets and safety kit mandatory, available on site). Electric motors only (on-site rental $35/day). Catch limit: 8 trout/day, NO catch-and-release. Licence and bait sold on site.
