L'Auberge / Pourvoirie Kan-à-Mouche (Kanamouche) was founded in 1945 on the shores of lac Carmel in Saint-Michel-des-Saints, Lanaudière, among century-old spruces and pines. The site has kept its historic 1950s character, from an era when it welcomed celebrated guests. Lodging, on the European plan, consists of 9 log cabins (1 to 5 bedrooms, sleeping 2 to 10 people) and 5 forest-motel rooms, several with a kitchenette, terrace or wood fireplace. Lac Carmel, stocked regularly, offers brook trout (omble de fontaine) and rainbow trout fishing on a self-guided basis: rowboats provided free of charge, electric motors only, limit of 8 trout per day, no catch-and-release. Summer: canoeing, swimming, wildlife watching (osprey, loons) and walking and interpretive trails all around the lake. Winter: snowshoeing, ice fishing, inner-tube sliding, cross-country skiing, skating, dog-sledding and snowmobiling nearby.

Staying on-site — Quebec resident $70/day/person (8-catch limit, licence not included); Non-Quebec resident (fishing licence + equipment included) 1-day package $85/person (4-catch limit), 3-day package $190/person (4 catches per day).
