Domaine la Vallee des Rosiers - Escapade Huskimo

Domaine la Vallée des Rosiers, in Otter Lake in the Outaouais (Pontiac region), spreads across 1,300 acres of mature and regenerating forest, fields and large marshlands. Founded in 2001 by Caroline and Sylvain, the estate is also the home of Escapade Huskimo, the dogsledding business born in 2004 (a kennel of about 49 Siberian huskies). Here you hunt bear and wild turkey in spring, and small game, waterfowl and white-tailed deer in fall, on a private territory where one sector is assigned per group; packages are European plan, 5 days minimum, 2 hunters minimum. Through the seasons: a sugar-shack experience package (24-hour maple-syrup apprentice), hiking, pick-your-own at the orchard, water-equipment rentals (kayaks, paddleboards, canoes) in summer, and dogsledding, snowshoeing and sliding hills in winter. Lodging is in a fully equipped log cabin or a lodge room, with an outdoor sauna, game room, indoor spa and an event room (up to 50 people, on-site liquor licence).
