Domaine Forsythe

Set on the shores of Lac Attic, about 70 km from Senneterre in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region, Domaine Forsythe is a family-run outfitter acquired in 1979 by the current owner's grandparents. People come for walleye and northern-pike fishing, where the outfitter rents motorboats, and for black-bear and moose hunting (in spring, a bear package with a baited site and lodging). Accommodation ranges from fully-equipped cabins to studio rooms with a kitchenette: Chalet Rita (3 bedrooms, sleeps up to 6) and Chalet Albert (open bedroom, sleeps up to 7) at $130 a night or $780 a week, plus two 'Batchelor' rooms with kitchenette and bathroom from $50 a night. On site, an overnight or seasonal campground (RV/trailer and tent sites) and a convenience store make the stay easy.
