Pourvoirie du Domaine du Lac Bernier owes its reputation to its 3 km-long lake, part of the ancestral Innu lands of Essipit. Lac Bernier offers sport fishing on protected territory where native brook trout (speckled trout / omble de fontaine, averaging 6 to 12 inches) is abundant all season, with a quota of 20 trout per licence and no catch-and-release. The territory also offers moose hunting on exclusive territories rented by the week (groups of 2 to 4 hunters, 1 animal per 2 hunters) as well as canoeing, kayaking, pedal-boating, swimming, hiking, wildlife watching and biking/ATV. Two comfortable, intimate 4-star cabins (European plan, 2 to 8 people, lake views, solar fridges and lighting, wood stove) offer an authentic and relaxing experience. 14 ft boats provided; on-site fish-smoking service.

Week 1: $2,726 (Friday 4 pm to Saturday 9 am); Week 2: $2,626 (Saturday 4 pm to Sunday 9 am). No hunting on arrival and departure days. Group of 2–4 hunters per territory; quota of 1 animal per 2 hunters per territory. Hunting licence required, not sold on site. Only registered hunters allowed on the exclusive-rights territories. Credit cards not accepted in the bush; 25% deposit at booking.

Additional person: 5 and under free; 6–17 without licence $31/day (5 d) or $30.75/day (7 d); 18+ $61.75/day (5 d) or $61.25/day (7 d). Family quota: 20 trout/adult with licence, 10 trout/child with licence; fishing rights included for adults and children. 50% deposit (non-refundable) for family weeks. 5-day stays Sunday–Friday; 7-day stays Sunday–Sunday or Friday–Friday.
