Club de chasse et pêche Stramond

Club de chasse et pêche Stramond is a small exclusive-rights outfitter in the northern Outaouais, set on the shores of Lac des Augustines in hunting zone 14. Its 111 km² exclusive territory — mountains, marshes, lakes and forest — is fished for walleye, lake trout and northern pike, and hunted for moose across sectors of about 10 km² each with their own maintained trails, or for small game (spruce grouse, ruffed grouse and hare). Lodging is European plan in 7 cottages on the main site and 5 remote cottages: from the 9-person Chalet Lodge to the rustic camps on Lac Rietz, Lac Roy and the Ottawa River, all progressively renovated over the years, with screened verandas, wood stoves and indoor showers. A cleaning room, freezer, cold storage for big game, shore lunch, propane B.B.Q. and free Wi-Fi on the main site round out the stay. Bought in 1982 by Austin and Madeleine Gagnon, the outfitter has been run since 2007 by its owner Renée Latour, who champions eco-responsible management: releasing large specimens, reduced walleye and pike quotas, catch reporting and solar equipment.
