Aventures Big Bear Hunt

About
BigBearHunt Adventures (Aventures Big Bear Hunt) is a camp devoted exclusively to black bear hunting in Quebec, operating since 1996 with a harvest rate held around 90% and a 'shooting opportunity or free trip back' guarantee. The business runs two wildlife reserves on exclusive territory: LaVérendrye, where it offers a guided American-Plan hunt and a trophy hunt for experienced hunters (exclusive access to about 1,500 mi², roughly 25% of the reserve, only 24 bear hunters), and Mastigouche, where it offers a European-style self-guided (DIY) hunt on a 975 mi² exclusive territory (4 hunters per cabin, 8 hunters/week, capped at 32 hunters per season, an estimated ~750 bears). Hunts run in June during the pre-rut and rut, over baited sites, with stands suited to any weapon or physical condition. The camp leans hard on heavy, constant baiting — more than 50 tons of food a year, guaranteeing fresh baits for every group down to the last — and monitors the sites with trail cameras. Bears over 300 lb are harvested every year, and in some years over 500 lb. Guaranteed kill for hunters under 16, women and older hunters. Lodging is in comfortable electrified log cabins with hot shower and indoor toilet; hot meals prepared by a cook (American plan) or self-catered (Mastigouche). Taxidermist service in camp, freezers, and export paperwork prepared before departure. Once the hunt is over, fishing (walleye, pike, lake trout, brook trout) is available on more than 800 lakes and 2 large reservoirs. Owner-operator: Claude Turcotte.

Per-hunter price, taxes extra. The brochure (Brochure page, reachable from the homepage) shows '$2999+ tx' for the Mastigouche Reserve self-guided hunt; currency not stated on the brochure, but the Packages page states its prices uniformly in US DOLLARS ('$1999 US … $3999 US') and the operator markets to US clients (export paperwork, border crossing) — so the currency is almost certainly US$. 6-day self-guided hunt (June 1-30, pre-rut and full rut) on a 975 mi² exclusive territory inside Mastigouche Wildlife Reserve; 4 hunters per cabin, only 8 hunters/week, capped at 32 hunters total.
