Au Diable Vert

About
Au Diable Vert is an award-winning four-season outdoor base, perched on the only open plateau on the south slope of Mont Sutton (over 1,000 feet of elevation), in the Eastern Townships, between the Round Top and Jay Peak summits. The site overlooks the Missisquoi River valley and the Green Mountains of Vermont. The first 'Dark Sky Lodging' certified in Canada by DarkSky International — and a starry-sky reserve designated by the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (2018, sky quality 21.63 mag/arcsec²) — its signature is ObservÉtoiles, the first open-air augmented-reality planetarium, astronomer-guided. Visitors hike, snowshoe and ski on a private trail network (19 to 22 km), kayak, paddleboard and tube down the river from the rental centre, and ride the VéloVolant, the first aerial-cable bike course in Canada. Lodging spans 32 types of four-season units — pod refuges for two, refuges perched in the trees (up to 8 people) or on the cliffs, rustic refuges, three fully-equipped mountain apartments, and wilderness camping sites. The whole site is pedestrian-access only, which preserves its quiet and the darkness of its sky.
