Pourvoyeurs de la Rivière Delay

About
Delay River Outfitters offers a fishing experience in the heart of Nunavik, in one of the most magnificent areas of Quebec's Great North. The Delay River is one of the most productive salmon rivers in Quebec: you can expect an average catch of two Atlantic salmon per day, weighing from 5 to 18 pounds, and 18-pound-plus fish are not uncommon. A unique feature: on a single river you can catch four of Quebec's major species — Atlantic salmon, speckled trout (brook trout), lake trout and northern pike. You travel the river by freighter canoe with experienced guides, or wade right in. Lodging is in comfortable cottages: three bedrooms, two full baths with showers, electric heating, a woodstove and a porch; a main building houses the dining hall and a lounge. All meals are included and prepared on site. The cottages are powered by generator until 10 p.m. each evening, and WiFi is available in the main building. The outfitter is a family story: the Lachapelle family — Roger and his sons Denis and Martin — have owned it since 1998. The Nunavik territory also offers excellent caribou hunting.
