About
Pourvoirie Némio sits on the Gouin Reservoir, at the mouth of the Nemio River (Baie du Nord, Baie de l'Est). Covering more than 3,500 square miles from east to west, the Gouin Reservoir is one of the most sought-after waters for the quality of its walleye and northern pike fishing, with a never-ending series of bays, channels and lake broadenings where walleye concentrate along rocky shorelines and sand bars, both shallow and deep. The Nemio River — navigable for more than 8 km and made up of three lakes — puts exceptional fishing spots within minutes of the cabins, even in strong wind. The territory also offers guided moose hunting (strategic stands on islands assigned exclusively to each hunter), bear hunting over more than 20 baited stands, small-game hunting along miles of private ATV roads, plus snowmobiling (December to March) and ice fishing (February to April) on the Nemio River. The six recently built lakeview cabins are car-accessible with private parking and rated 3 stars by the Federation of Quebec Outfitters. Each is equipped with a propane stove, a new electric fridge with freezer, 24/7 solar electricity, central water, an interior washroom, a hot-water shower and a woodstove. The site includes a full-service dining lounge, gasoline, outboard oil, ice, a minor-repair facility, a screened fish-cleaning shack with running water at the docks, Wi-Fi and satellite phone. The docks and pathways are lit and the site is secured 24 hours a day.
