Pourvoirie le Hibou

Under new ownership (the owners are former clients of the outfitter), Pourvoirie Le Hibou offers a fishing experience on the vast Réservoir Gouin, where fishing spots are plentiful and reachable within 45 minutes by boat — including Grand lac du mâle and the Mattawa, Saraana, Hanotaux, Plamondon and Adolphe Poisson bays. The outfitter has eight cabins (two for four guests, three for six, two for eight), each with bunk-bed bedrooms, a full gas-equipped kitchen, a glass-front wood stove, hot water, a living room and a large screened veranda, electricity 24/7 and a forest-facing porch, with 75 to 100 feet of woods between cabins for privacy. On site: a BBQ at each cabin, a gazebo, a fish-cleaning station, four shared outdoor showers, a store (fishing tackle, clothing, convenience items, souvenirs), a fishing-guide and fish-gutting service, gas, propane and aviation fuel. The outfitter also rents boats (a 22-foot pontoon, boats with motor) and runs a hunting service for bear, partridge and small game. Accessible by road, floatplane and train.
