Founded in 1969 on the shores of Lac Matchi-Manitou, in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region just beside the northern edge of the La Vérendrye wildlife reserve, Pourvoirie du Lac Matchi-Manitou sits on one of the region's ten most beautiful lakes — a 12 km by 6 km body of water renowned for the quality of its fishing and hunting and for its many fine-sand beaches. Its waters hold brook trout (speckled trout), lake trout, walleye and northern pike, including exclusive brook-trout fishing on Lac Savoie. Bear hunting — the outfitter's specialty, with an excellent success rate — joins moose and small-game hunting (ruffed and spruce grouse, hare, ducks and waterfowl) across hundreds of kilometres of trails. Lodging ranges from luxury chalets to yurts, rustic camps and semi-serviced camping (European plan), and winter brings snowmobiling, snowshoeing and ice fishing. A wild, untouched setting, ideal for a getaway with family or friends.

Access : By road
Road access. Take Route 117 to km 472, turn right onto Chemin Chimo and follow the signs to the outfitter (km 68-69). The outfitter is 33 km from Route 117 and is easily reached by car.
