About

Pourvoirie du lac Obatogamau is the only outfitter on Lac Obatogamau, a large 76 km² lake dotted with more than 100 islands, in the Chibougamau area (Nord-du-Québec / Eeyou Istchee Baie-James). It is a walleye and pike fishing destination in fishing zone 17, which allows keeping a walleye over 53 cm. Ten lakeside cabins host 2 to 6 people: seven rustic log cabins (each with a full private bathroom assigned to it in the new 2023 sanitary block) and three newly built air-conditioned deluxe cabins. All cabins have hydroelectricity, non-potable running water and an equipped kitchen (European plan). Assigned docks with electricity steps from the cabins, a boat launch ramp for large boats, a fish-cleaning station, rental of 14' boats with new Mercury 15 HP 4-stroke motors, and worms and leeches for sale on site. Dogs on leash accepted, firewood provided.

Access : By road

Road access only. Take Route 167 North (toward Chibougamau) to km 191, then turn left and follow the outfitter's signs: the outfitter is 10 km along a maintained gravel road off Route 167 North, accessible by car. Boat launch ramp suited to large boats. Coming from the south via Lac-Saint-Jean, fill up on gas at La Doré — there is no gas station for about 200 km. Grocery store, SAQ and gas dépanneur 35 minutes away.
