About

Pourvoirie du lac Obatogamau is the only outfitter on Lac Obatogamau, a 76 km² lake dotted with more than 100 islands, in fishing zone 17. People come for walleye and pike fishing that delivers on both quantity and quality: assigned, electrified docks a few steps from the cabins, a launch ramp that welcomes big boats, a launching service, and a fully screened fish-cleaning shed with running water, stainless counters and electric freezers. Ten cabins line the shore, all on the European plan: seven rustic log cabins, whose full private bathroom sits in the sanitary building built in 2023, and three squared-log deluxe cabins built in 2022, air-conditioned and with a full bathroom inside. Capacity 2 to 6 people, hydroelectric power, equipped kitchen, wood stove with firewood included, cell coverage and unlimited Wi-Fi. Rental of 14-foot aluminum boats with new Mercury 15 HP 4-stroke motors, worms and leeches for sale on site, lake map provided. Dogs on leash accepted. Access is easy by car over 10 km of maintained gravel road; grocery store, gas station and liquor store 35 minutes away.

Access : By road

Road access. Take Route 167 North toward Chibougamau to km 191, then turn left and follow the outfitter's signs. The last 10 km are on packed gravel road, maintained from the outfitter's opening to its closing, and are easily driven in a car. Coming from the south via Lac-Saint-Jean, fill up in the municipality of La Doré: there is no gas station for roughly 200 km. Grocery store, gas station and liquor store 35 minutes from the outfitter; there is no convenience store on site. Boat launch ramp that welcomes large boats, with a launching service. No electric-vehicle charging station for the time being.
